DUI may have been the cause of a early morning accident in Pacific Beach. It happened just after 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of Garnet Avenue and Morrell Street.
Officials say a driver going north on Morrell ran a stop sign and broadsided a patrol car, forcing it to spin around. Both the driver of the car and the police officer were taken to the hospital for injuries.
