Fatal Pedestrian Accident Shuts Down I-5
A deadly pedestrian accident shut down a portion of Interstate 5 near the Coronado Bridge last night. Police say the pedestrian was struck by at least three cars while reportedly trying to run across the freeway around 7:30pm.
The interstate was shutdown for several hours while investigators worked the scene. Police have not yet confirmed whether the victim was a man or a woman. One of the driver involved in the accident was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Unfortunately San Diego pedestrian accidents like last night’s incident are all too common in this region. Pedestrian accidents can happen on any road and at any time of day and night.
Pedestrian accidents can be extremely traumatic for the surviving victims, or families of the deceased. An experienced San Diego Personal Injury Attorney should be obtained immediately before family members accept any type of settlement. Often, victims (or victims’ family members) can be eligible to file a civil lawsuit in which they claim payment of monetary damages to help offset the costs associated with the accident.
It is not recommended that victims pursue a pedestrian accident lawsuit without the proper advice from an experienced attorney who understands personal injury law and can assist in constructing a tight legal case based on evidence and substantial investigation.
