Here’s another reason to think before you post on Facebook.
An Oregon teen posted to his Facebook account that he was driving drunk and hit a car.
According to the Washington Post, two Facebook friends of 18-year-old Jacob Cox-Brown reported the post to police, which read:
“Drivin drunk … classsic 😉 but to whoever’s vehicle i hit i am sorry. :P”
Police went to Cox-Brown’s house and were able to match a vehicle there to one that had hit two others in early in the morning. Cox-Brown was arrested and booked into jail for “two counts of failing to perform the duties of a driver.”
The article points out that Facebook posts of wrongdoing can lead police to your door. In other words, don’t post anything you don’t want your mom or the police to see – and certainly don’t update Facebook, Twitter or text while driving.
